Pittsburgh 360° - May 17, 2012

In this episode, Tonia Caruso introduces viewers to Lillie Leonardi, a former F.B.I. employee whose life was changed forever by her work at the Flight 93 crash site in Shanksville. The events prompted her to write a book to help not only herself, but others, heal. Michael Bartley visits Pittsburgh's Children's Hospital to learn why doctors there are treating not only children, but adults for congential heart defects. And viewers learn about a program that teaches children how to learn by designing their own video games.

Bicycle Heaven

Craig Morrow has been collecting bicycles for 25 years and has thousands. Yes, thousands! Craig has so many that he got a warehouse to store his two wheelers. Bicycle Heaven is located just off of the bike trail on Pittsburgh's north Side. It's a bike museum where you'll see the antique "Bone-Shaker," lots of Schwinns, a collection of the rare Bowden Spacelander and more!

The Chief

For seven seasons, it ran as a sold out performance at the Pittsburgh Public Theater. Now "The Chief," a play about the life of legendary Steelers owner Art Rooney, Sr. has been made into a movie. Tonia Caruso sits down with the men behind the story. Plus, you'll meet the Pittsburgh native and long time Hollywood actor who brings "The Chief" to life.

Drunken Angels

Join Pittsburgh 360's Tonia Caruso as she visits Drunken Angels, a newly opened clothing, jewelry and art store located in McKees Rocks. The owner is a local woman who spent part of the 1990s sleeping under a bridge and battling alcoholism. Today, Margie Rose has recovered and continues to draw strength from her angels -both in her designs as well as those friends who have struggled before her.

Life-Changing Surgery

Childhood obesity is a national epidemic. Now, more and more teenagers are turning to weight loss surgery to get a handle on their problem. For many patients, the surgery is not only helping them to shed pounds, but it's changing their lives for the better. One local teen is sharing his story of surgery success. He tells Michael Bartley how the operation, hard work, and music helped him to lose 140 pounds and why that is just the beginning of his journey.

Johnstown Flood

On May 31, 1889, the South Fork Dam failed and emptied millions of tons of water into the Conemaugh Valley, killing 2209 people in Johnstown, PA and nearby areas. Pittsburgh 360 takes you to the National Parks memorial which has honored the victims of this devastating flood for more than 30 years.

Bonnie's Bus

For years, many women living in rural parts of West Virginia would never get a mammogram. In some cases, they didn't have coverage and couldn't afford it. For some, the nearest center was hundreds of miles away. That all changed when Bonnie's Bus started making its rounds.This mobile digital mammography unit for the West Virginia University Hospital's Cancer Center travels into rural West Virginia providing mammograms to women who'd otherwise have to travel great distances for this life-saving test. Contributor Lori Savitch brings us the story.
